During the month of December, Bel Air High School’s CORE club will be promoting kindness through smile slips, a slip of paper designed to help students empower one another.

The CORE club strives to spread kindness through action and awareness. They focus on the “kindness is free” initiative, showing that you can be kind and it doesn’t have to cost you anything. The club is run by Mrs. Willhelm and Mrs. Reed, and they meet once a month in room A203.

According to Willhelm, the smile slips can be found in the cafeteria where anyone at the school can fill them out and send them to students, faculty, or staff members. The CORE club members will collect the slips and deliver them to either the student’s homerooms, or to the teacher directly.

The holiday season can be a stressful time for everyone, so by doing this project, it can help make a difference and bring smiles to Bel Air.

Smiles will start to spread on Monday, December 5, 2022, when CORE club will start sorting through and delivering the smile slips. Stay on the lookout for the slips to show up in the cafeteria, where you can contribute to the “kindness is free” project.
