2018 Canned Food Drive

Caroline Schumann

Bel Air High School has been participating in the canned food drive for about 10 years. Each homeroom is assigned a can to bring in by Friday, November 16 to help local families. igh Sschol  H High school

The cans will be boxed up after school on that Friday and will be delivered to Saint Margret’s Parish.

Last year Bobcat Nation fed 100 families and the goal for this year is to shoot for 125 boxes.

Mrs. Blackburn, who is in charge of the can drive, says, “It makes me very happy to see Bobcat Nation coming together to help our community.”

Food drives help thousands of people all over the country. Donating doesn’t only just help people but giving back makes you feel great that you can help feed a family that can’t afford it.

Ms. Kody who volunteers at the church says, “This is phenomenal and rewarding helping others. Last year Bel Air High School fed 100 families in conjunction with Saint Margret’s Church. We were able to feed 300 families in Harford county. I encourage Bel Air students to help us at the mission to give a family a meal this Thanksgiving.”

This is a great way to give back this holiday season to our community and provide a Thanksgiving meal for a family in need.
