The House of Hope hosted an event on Sunday, October, 28 2018 called Paws in the Park at North East Community Park to help raise money for dogs at their shelter.

Registration for the Paw in the Park walk started at 9:00 am and the actual walk began s at 10:15 AM. Any dog and their owner were welcome to join the walk as long as their dog is on a leash.

After the walk, participants enjoyed food, venders, and even a doggie kissing booth. The food was from the North Easter Lions Club, Boy scout troop 131, the Mobile Mission Project, and Uncle Johns BBQ Stand. Some of the vendors included Busy B. Creation, Cecil County Dept of Emergency Services, Dilly Dally Cakery, and many more. There were even dogs up for the adoption as well, helping dogs find good homes.

“I have found that when you are deeply troubled, there are many things you get from the silent devoted companionship from a dog that you can get from no other source,” says an anonymous source.

To celebrate the Halloween season, there was even a doggie dress-up competition, with judging on dog’s Halloween costumes. It was great fun for everyone involved.
