Prom and Graduation Attire Donations

This year, 2018, Bel Air High School’s prom dress donation will continue, but also include donations for graduation attire as well. Administrators have noticed the need for formal graduation clothes, and since graduation is something you can only do once, they want to make sure every student has a chance to do it right.

Anybody can donate new or gently used formal attire. So far, there are about 20-25 dresses that have been donated. However, shoes, men’s or women’s are a big item that can be donated and are needed.

Last year, the prom dress count totaled to 10, and there are already twice that amount this year and the drive is not even over yet.

“We are always accepting of donated items,” administrator, Dr. Miller said, “and the items are available to anyone who needs them for these events.”

This is the first year graduation clothes are being asked for; and while there are already a good amount of prom dresses available, attire for men is still needed.

“I noticed at last year’s graduation, some students didn’t have shoes,” Dr. Miller continued, “One student gave his shoes to another boy who didn’t have any.”

If you want to make a donation, you can drop them off in the front office or make an appointment with an administrator. Donations can be made up until the day of prom, April 21, 2018, or graduation, which is May 31, 2018.
