World Cultures Night Informational Meeting

The Foreign Language Club is holding two meetings on Tuesday, Feb. 7 and Thursday, Feb. 9 to inform club members about the different ways they can participate in this year’s World Cultures Night.

World Cultures Night is an opportunity for students to immerse themselves into different cultures around the world to expand their knowledge and perspective. Students may choose to attend and/or participate in this event to educate their peers about their selected country and learn the culture and customs of other countries.

Tuesday, Feb. 7 is the regular meeting date; however, if members are unable to attend due to Honor Society meetings, then they will be able to attend the Thursday meeting instead. The officers will introduce the dynamics of World Cultures Night such as the requirements for a country’s tri-fold poster, food they may to serve to visitors, and the opportunity to gain extra credit for their respective foreign language class.

“I think World Cultures Night is both a great learning experience for patrons in order to learn about our very diverse world, and to learn about new languages and bond with the members outside of our monthly meetings,” says Alexi Misciagna, member of the Foreign Language Club.

This year, the officers want to encourage their members to perform in this event. Members can display any talent on the night of the event appropriate in accordance to policies at Bel Air High School.

Erika Gonzales, the secretary of the Foreign Language Club, comments, “I’m excited to see our club members’ different talents on World Cultures Night! I’m sure they will all have something different to bring to the table.”

Consider participating in this exciting event and invite other interested students! Students do not have to be enrolled in a foreign language class in order to participate.
