Bel Air’s Annual Food Drive

Bel Air’s Annual Food Drive

Natalie Peckham

This holiday season, Bel Air High School is participating in an annual food drive to help less fortunate families in the local area. All next week in homeroom, from Nov. 13 through Nov. 18, your homeroom will be collecting nonperishable items. Each homeroom has a different item so make sure you talk to your teacher about what to bring in.

Items like canned cranberry, canned green beans, cake mix, gravy, etc. will be placed in baskets and given to over 300 families in the area. All baskets will be taken to St. Margaret’s church and handed out from there.

This food drive is sponsored by the National Honor Society, so if you have any further questions make sure to ask a member or club sponsor Mrs. Blackburn.

We at Bel Air are very fortunate to attend such a wonderful school and be given so many opportunities, that sometimes we forget that we are so lucky to have. Especially around the holidays it is important to take a step back and realize everything that we are grateful for, and do what we can to give back to our community. As cliché as that sounds, it makes a world of a difference to those in need.

So, come on Bel Air, if each person in this school brings in just one item, we could donate over 1600 items! Imagine the impact that could make to so many families.
