Eagles Day

On Saturday, Nov. 12, the Conowingo Dam Organization and Exelon Generation hosts its annual Eagles Day. It is also the beginning of the Bald Eagle Photo Contest, which lasts through Dec. 31.

Last year, over 800 people and about 200 photographers visited the dam during this event. This year, Eagles Days it will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Conowingo Dam Pavilion, located at 2569 Shures Landing Road.

“It will be an exciting experience to see so many other photographers there who have the same passion that I have for photographing eagles.” Says enthusiast Christian Beale. “Many people say that the Conowingo Dam is the best place to see eagles on the East Coast and I definitely agree. There hasn’t been one time that I haven’t seen an eagle while I’ve been there.”

“This is the premier place to see bald eagles on the East Coast.” States David Lychenhiem, photographer, administrator of the Conowingo Bald Eagles Facebook page, and promoter of Eagles Day.

So, if you are interested in seeing the eagles, or are just going for a fun day at the dam, come on out for Eagles Day!
