On Wednesday, Sept. 17, the town of Bel Air celebrated the 50th anniversary of Town Hall with the unveiling of a brand new, heart shaped sculpture.

On the morning of the anniversary, the new sculpture was revealed in front of Town Hall. The sculpture consisted of a beautiful mosaic of reflective tiles, representing the citizens of Bel Air.

There were around 150 people who attended the celebration, including the Bel Air Jazz Band. Clergy, school principals, commissioners, rabbis, and business owners were all invited to the celebration.

Trish Heidenreich, the Bel Air Economic Development Director, stated, “I was very pleased with the turnout of this event.”

The Bel Air Downtown Alliance and the arts commission were the two groups that teamed up to create the heart-shaped sculpture known as the Heart of Harford. There is multiple hearts on the sculpture made of tiles and mirrors, all representing different things.

Trish Heidenreich also stated, “We’re interconnected, and each of us has an opportunity to shine.”

Overall, the anniversary celebration helped bring together the people who keep striving to make Bel Air a better place, one step at a time.
