The BBQ Bash Takes Over Downtown

On Fri., August 8and Sat., August 9, the 13th annual Maryland Barbeque Bash took place in Downtown Bel Air, sponsored by Mars Super Markets.

The Maryland BBQ Bash is a barbeque themed street festival where over 50 teams compete for cash prizes and a chance to compete in the annual Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue in Lynchburg, Tennessee and The American Royal in Kansas City, Missouri. There will also be another competition to find the best ribs in Maryland.

The Barbeque Bash features live music, great food, a kid’s zone and great people. The BBQ Bash was also named Harford County’s best event in 2012 and is one of the most anticipated events.

The festivities begin Friday at 4 p.m. on the main stage, Fiction 20 Down preforms. Then from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. the Kiss a Pig contest takes place for the Boys & Girls Club of Harford County. Then from 7- 7:30 p.m. the Tailgate Challenge awards are announced. Lastly from 8:30 -10 p.m. Walk Ins Welcome preforms.

On Saturday the BBQ Bash continues with Remains of Radio on stage at 12 p.m. The MD State BBQ Bash awards and trophies will be given out at 4 p.m. Lastly Black Jack Billy band will perform on the main stage sponsored by WXCY 103.7 FM.

The 2014 BBQ Bash was a success. If you did not get the chance to check it out this year please attend in 2015.
