On Mon., May 19, 2014, the winners of Ice Cream University went to Broom’s Bloom to make their ice cream flavor Bonfire Delight. The following day, the flavor made its debut and was sold at Broom’s Bloom.

Bonfire Delight is a S’mores flavor. It is a marshmallow base ice cream flavor with graham cracker swirl and chocolate covered pretzel pieces in it. The students made seven boxes of the ice cream that is going to be sold until it sells out, and then Broom’s Bloom may or may not remake it to sell more.

“Bonfire Delight ice cream is on sale now at Broom’s Bloom. It’s amazing so go try it!” said Rebecca Jones, one of the team members.

The winners of Ice Cream University are a team of five people, three of which go to Bel Air High School, one goes to Havre de Grave High School, and one goes to Eastern Tech High School. The three Bel Air High School students are Rebecca Jones, Shayla Graves and Sarah Ermatinger.

“It was so much fun to be able to go behind the scenes of Broom’s Bloom and actually create the ice cream ourselves. It’s a good feeling to know that you created something that others are telling you is really good,” said Sarah Ermatinger, another team member.

This is a limited time flavor so go out and get it while you can and support the three Bel Air High School students who put a lot of time and effort into creating this new flavor.
