Oregon Ridge Park to Host Arthritis Awareness Walk

On May 17, 2014, the Walk to Cure Arthritis will take place at Oregon Ridge Park as an effort to raise money for Arthritis research.

The Walk to Cure Arthritis raises awareness and funds to fight arthritis, the nation’s leading disability. The purpose of the walk is to help millions of people who live with arthritis by funding research that help bring Arthritis victims closer to a cure.

The Walk consists of both a three-mile and a one-mile course. There will also be information about Arthritis and activities for the entire family. And, if you have dogs, you are more than welcome to bring them along with you.

Jillian Beam, Associate Development Director of the Arthritis Foundation, stated, “We hope to shed light on the face that nearly 5,600 youth under the age of 18 are affected by Arthritis.”

Jillian Beam also stated, “Our focus is to bring attention to the fact that arthritis is not just [a disease that affects the elderly], it affects children as well as our four-legged best friends!”

Helping nearly 1.1 million Marylanders, this will be a great way to spend a Saturday. Make sure to come out for a great morning of fun, food, and Arthritis awareness.

Registration for the walk begins at 7:30 A.M. and the walk starts at 8:30 A.M.
