On Mar. 22, 2014, the Bel Air High School Core Club attended the Decoy Dunk at Flying Point Park in Edgewood and placed third highest in the total pledged amount of money donated for the group division.

Proceeds benefited youth activities in Harford County such as the Boys & Girls Club and the Patterson Mill Key Club.

Only four students, Rebekah Riley, Mimi Salters, Hailey Lockard and Rene Sipos, attended. Each attendee plunged into the freezing cold water for the Boys & Girls Club and represented the Core Club team, Chilled to the Core.

Mimi Salters said, “It was such a nice event to have and it raised money for the local community. It was really fun and Bel Air’s Chilled to the Core team won third! I would definitely do it again!”

Core Club plans on attending the event again in the future and hopes to gain more participants.

“It would have been fun if we had a bigger turn out because if we won third place with just four people, imagine what we could have done with all of core club there! I hope a lot more people come next year and I would love to raise more money for Harford county youth activities,” Salters added.
