Rockfield’s ‘Reflections’ Rouses Reverence for Art

On Thu., Mar. 6, 2014, the Harford Artists Gallery reopened with the “Reflections” exhibit that will continue until Apr. 17.

The Harford Artists Gallery is a free exhibit that is located next to Rockfield Manor where local artists can display and sell their creations. The gallery was founded in 1967 with the purpose of bettering the community through the promotion of fine arts. It is supported by a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council and the Harford County government through the Harford County Cultural Arts Board.

The gallery is open at various interludes and rotates through a variety of exhibits. The exhibit currently on display, “Reflections,” focuses on the reflections found in nature, like the reflection of a forest off a lake. Other exhibits will be rotated in throughout the year, such as “Spring in Bloom” during the months of May and June, as well as “Flags” during the months of July and August.

Celina Corn, a frequent visitor to the gallery says that, “it’s a great place to find potential purchases for art lovers and it’s also a great way for local artists to get on the map. I would highly recommend an aspiring artist to stop by to see the pieces.”
