Bobcats Collect 55 “Turkeys in a Box”, 2,665 Canned Goods

On November 22, 2013, Bel Air High School collected all the last minute canned food and wrapped up the annual school-wide “Thanksgiving in a Box” food drive. This year Bel Air High School was able to collect 2,665 canned goods for the boxes.  In addition, the teachers of BAHS donated 55 frozen turkeys.  As a result Bobcat Nation was able to put together 55 complete Thanksgiving Dinners for needy families, as well as many more partial meals.

Bel Air High School Principal Mr. Greg Komondor exclaimed,” Our goal was 2,014 canned  goods, and we came in so far above that;  it’s wonderful to see the Bel Air family come together for such a great cause.”

The meals will be sent over to St. Margaret’s Church in Bel Air, where they will be distributed to needed families in the Harford County area on Sunday, November 24, 2013.  The families will have the meals in time for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

BAHS have done a fantastic job giving back to the families in need, it’s much appreciated and everyone should be proud of the success of this drive.  Bel Air High School has been able to make the lives of many families a little better for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
