Jacoby Jones Signing Signals 3rd Raven Visit to Bel Air

On Tuesday,  Nov. 4, 2013, Baltimore Ravens’ wide receiver and 2012 Super Bowl Champion, Jacoby Jones, held a signing at Bel Air’s very own Greek Village.

People have been anticipating the event since Oct. 16, when tickets went on sale. The excitement level was through the roof in the Greek Village parking lot where everyone was lined up. While the Ravens fans waited, the Greek Village employees were handing out appetizers, hot chocolate, and cupcakes.  There was face painting for little Ravens as well as a raffle for a signed Ray Lewis jersey. Ravens gear was also being sold, which ironically boosted its sales that day after the Ravens Fan Men showed up, dressed head to toe in their purple pride.

Jacoby Jones is a wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens, also known as the 2012 NFL Super Bowl Champions. Jacoby is the player that helped score a 56-yard touchdown during the second quarter of last year’s Super Bowl, making himself a bit of a football idol for the town of Bel Air. Luckily, the fans at the Greek Village stayed calm and respectful for the employees, making the entire signing process a bit easier.

The signing also served as a food drive for the Maryland Food Bank. Everyone who donated a bag of groceries earned 15% off of their next meal at Greek Village.

“As Jacoby was leaving, he told us that this was the best signing he’s ever been to. That made us all feel pretty special.” Hannah McVey, a Greek Village employee and BAHS senior said.

So far, Bel Air has received visits from Baltimore’s defensive tackle Haloti Ngata, running back Ray Rice, and no, wide receiver Jacoby Jones. The Ravens can’t seem to stay away from Bel Air, and the town certainly isn’t complaining.
