Bel Air Welcomes Dr. Lamb as New Assistant Principal

Bel Air High School started their second quarter off with the exciting news of a new Assistant Principal , Dr. James Lamb joining the administrative team at BAHS.

Dr. Lamb grew up in North East Baltimore city, and attended Calvert Hall where he played football, basketball and lacrosse. Dr. Lamb played basketball for Loyola University while majoring in science and also participated in Track and Field. He also attended the University of Maryland and Towson University.

After retiring from his job as a dentist, Dr. Lamb followed his dream and studied to become a teacher. He taught at Edgewood High School for twenty years and coached football, boys’ basketball, and boys’ and girls’ lacrosse. Even after spending 20 years at Edgewood and watching all four of his children graduate from C. Milton Wright, Dr. Lamb confirmed that he is a Bobcat fan; he has even purchased his Bobcat gear.

Dr. Lamb said, “I do remember what it was like to be sitting there and high school is tough, you don’t know what you can do, You’re thinking, can I get into college?  Can I get a job? This person doesn’t like me, they don’t like me, this isn’t the course. So I work hard and I will be as fair and consistent as possible.”

Dr. Lamb is responsible for transportation, some aspects of special education, and sophomore and junior class and eligibility.

Dr. Lamb would like students to know, “In high school, believe it or not, I remember some of the really dumb things we did, I played three sports in high school, I was pretty much an honor roll student, National Honor Society, but in all honesty I do know what you guys go through. Having 20 years at Edgewood and dealing with those kids, I have a lot of patience  with you guys because I know you look like adults and look like your grown up, but you’re still kids. I have patience with you.  Adults can annoy me sometimes, but I understand.”

All of the students at Bel Air should make sure Dr. Lamb receives a warm welcome. The Bellarion would like to wish him good luck in his time at Bel Air.
