Students Strut Down Red Carpet at Homecoming

On Friday, Oct. 18, Bel Air High School gathered for the annual Homecoming Dance from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Last week, students participated in several events such as movie character day, the rose sale, and a rambunctious pep rally to celebrate the arrival of Homecoming. Many students attended the Homecoming game on Thursday night to support their Varsity Football team.

On Friday, social media was buzzing with excitement as students had a day off to get ready for the dance. Many ticket holders were lined up at the doors by 7:00 AM. This year the theme of homecoming was, “A Night at the Oscars” and the school was decked out in red carpet decorations such as popular celebrity cardboard cutouts and a Hollywood sign in the back of the gym.

Nicholas Napalitano, a sophomore that attended Homecoming, said “You could tell that everyone involved with the Homecoming Court was determined to make Homecoming 2013 a memorable night for all of the students who came.”

Throughout the night, students were laughing and spending time with their friends in the gym or taking a break in the cafeteria.

Ms. Barry, a biology teacher that attended Homecoming as a chaperone, said “This year has been the best yet. Everyone was well behaved and respectful of the teachers. I’m glad I got to see everyone.”

Homecoming was a great way to show Bel Air High School’s dedication to the school, next year will prove even more Bobcat Pride!
