Class Shirts to Highlight the School

Every school year at Bel Air High School, all the students have an opportunity to buy class shirts for the school year. The shirts costs $10, and contributes to the class accounts accordingly. The shirts are a large fundraiser for each class. The seniors last year made $2,600 for their class.

Each class has a different color that follows them through their high school years. Freshmen shirts are palace blue, sophomore shirts are jade, junior shirts are hot pink and senior shirts are lime green.

”When you wear a class shirt on Class Color Day during Homecoming Week, every student’s homeroom teacher will mark down how many students wear a shirt and that will determine who wins that day,” said Ms. McDonough, who is the head coordinator for all spirit wear.

The class colors last year have changed, causing some confusion among students. Last year, juniors had been wearing Caribbean Blue, the same color they wore freshman and sophomore year. This year the senior color changed to Lime Green.

“Each year the Seniors like a different shirt that is a new fun BRIGHT color that will only say SENIORS on the front and 2014 on the back. It just makes them a little more special and something to look forward to,” Mrs. McDonough commented on the change.

Shirt money is due September 24th to Ms. McDonough in room B207
