7/11 Takes Over in Downtown

On Friday, August 24th, a brand new 7/11 convenience store opened its doors to the town of Bel Air.

The new store’s location is surprisingly within walking distance of another 7/11. While this may seem like an odd choice both stores are owned by the same man, Amit Patel, who chose the new location based on its accessibility to the citizens of Bel Air.

Kayla Blankenship, a 7/11 sales associate, stated that the accessibility of the store is, “helped by the traffic pattern. It’s easier getting out of here because people can access traffic from Main Street, 924, 95, or 22.”  And that “They also picked the location for the nearby High School so that it would be easier for students to run over here and get something real quick.”

Due to the success of the grand opening, the employees are planning to release specials similar to those of the opening in order to bring in more customers. Despite not knowing what will be on sale, it has been confirmed that many of the specials will be coming in September. The items on sale could range from pizza to wings to egg rolls, or even some of the healthier selections such as salad or fruit.

The potent combination of speedy food creation and accessibility of the store makes the 7/11 a prime location for a Bel Air students. Coupled with the future specials, wide variety of food, and 24/7 hours help the citizens of Bel Air as much as the business.

When asked about who she believes benefits more from the new store Miss Blankenship replied that she thinks “The town of Bel Air benefits more. There has been a lot of money put into this place. It gives the town a convenient place to go for quick, fresh, good food.”

The new 7/11 has become a large asset to the town of Bel Air and their employees will work hard to keep it that way.
