On Dec. 18, 2015, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released into theaters everywhere, where millions (literally) of new and old fans will rush to local cinemas in excitement.

This is the long awaited seventh installment in the beloved series. The last film Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith came out in 2005. The past three films released were enjoyed my most, but paled in comparison to the original three movies from the 1970s and 1980s. Many people are hoping this new episode will bring back the feel of the older movies and reinvigorate the series.

Episode VII will include new stars and characters such as John Boyega as Finn and Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, as well as older ones such as Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker. The latter two have created even more enthusiasm among admirers.

When asked what he thought of the movie, 14 year old Michael Fenlon replied “It’s going to be amazing. We watched the trailer in Latin class and then spent the rest of it discussing how the movie looks.”

There have been three separate trailers for The Force Awakens, each new one leaving viewers more eager than the last. The last trailer debuted on Monday, Oct. 19. This newest clip gave people a clearer sight of the storyline.

Other fans have a more skeptical opinion. “I just hope it has a fresh and original idea, nothing too similar to the first three. Oh and bring back Jar-Jar!” 11th grader Andrew Kovaleski said. “Just kidding.”

Clearly fans all over the world are more than thrilled and eager for this new addition to the Star Wars saga. If you’re just as excited as they are, tickets are already on sale!
