Upcoming Pokémon Games Generating Great Excitement

On Wednesday, February 27, 2019 the Pokémon company announced that their new games, Sword and Shield, are set to release late 2019. The exact release date is unknown.

The game is set in the Galar region, a new area created for the game. It is highly speculated that the Galar region is based on the United Kingdom.

Very little game footage was shown, but we still know a lot about the games. For one, the wild encounter mechanic that was removed in Pokémon Let’s Pikachu and Pokémon Let’s Eevee has been brought back, as well as gyms, which were removed in 2016’s Pokémon Sun and Moon.

We also got our first look at the 3 starter Pokémon: the grass type, Grookey, the fire type Scorbunny, and the water type Sobble. Many fans are already debating over which one is the best.

Many fans are excited for the release of these games, especially since it is the first main series game for the Nintendo Switch. Others are more skeptical, especially since many fans are accustomed to 3DS.

Although it is too early to tell, many are incredibly excited for the new adventure. More news about the games is going to release before the games official release, so stay tuned.
