2018 Reverie Literary Magazine

Reverie is the literary magazine made by the students of Bel Air High School for their fellow students featuring student created poems and other written work, along with art pieces.

Reverie is defined as ‘a state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts; a daydream. As a result, Reverie is a well-chosen name for the club, defining the feeling you get when lost in drawing, reading, or writing.

Mr. Jason Taylor is the teacher who has been sponsoring Reverie for fourteen years, passing on his passion to students in the club.

“I was a part of my school’s Reverie club, so when the position for a teacher to sponsor the club opened, I jumped on it,” explains Jason Taylor. “I think that anytime students share their art and writing, it’ll be positive.”

This proves to be true, as many students in the club say how it has positively impacted their lives.

“I love being in Reverie,” Sophomore, Grace Schwartz says, “It has impacted my life tremendously because my greatest form of expression is through my writing. It’s one of the most intimate way to truly communicate with one’s thoughts. Overall, it has been a really great experience.”

You can find Mr. Taylor and his Reverie students writing and drawing away after school in C222, and be sure to get a copy of this year’s magazine when you get the chance.
