The Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra Comes back to Harford County

The Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra returned home for the holidays in Harford County, Maryland to perform at Bel Air High School on Saturday, Dec. 5. The concert was called “We’re Walking in the Air.”

Originally formed in 1978, the orchestra played under the name “The Harford Community Orchestra.” The name changed to what it is now known today as in the year 1982. Susquehanna has become a must-see for citizens and visitors of Harford County. The 80 person ensemble performs a series of four concerts during the school year.

The Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra’s mission statement describes them as “A non-profit community orchestra, providing education and entertainment,” according to their website.

The concert was holiday themed.

“Thank you to everyone who came to our concert last night! We had a full house and it was one of the most spirited audiences yet! We want to wish you all a happy holiday season and a wonderful new year,” stated the orchestra according to their Facebook page.

The songs featured on Saturday included: The Snowman, Pachelbel’s Christmas, The Sussex Mummers’ Christmas Carol and many more. The Harford County based symphony received a massive applause for their outstanding work.
