Beginning Nov. 12, the Bel Air Drama Company will showcase their fall plays, taking the stage to perform “Our Town” and “Father of the Bride” at Bel Air High School.

The show dates for “Our Town” are Thursday, Nov. 12, Saturday, Nov. 14, and Friday, Nov. 20.  Show times for “Father of the Bride” are Friday, Nov. 13, Thursday, Nov. 19, and Saturday, Nov. 21.  Tickets are currently on sale for $10.00 at www.belairdrama.org, and will be sold at the door for a raised price of $12.00.

“Our Town” is a three act love story about a fictional small town, Grover’s Corners, between 1901 and 1913. Kiley Ernest will be playing the lead role of Emily Webb along with Jack Mcallister as George Gibbs.  “Father of the Bride” is a 1991 American comedy about a man trying to cope with the stress of his daughter getting married.  Veronica Burbelo will be playing the bride, Kenny Connelly will be playing the groom, and Hector Belarmino will be playing the father of the bride.

Mr. Bowden explained, “We are doing an alternation schedule this year so that more people can participate.  This makes it possible for the students to be both in the cast and the crew.”

“Our Town” is being directed by Jana Sierocinki, and “Father of the Bride” is being directed by Miranda Bengel.  The full company of 80 people has been working on these plays since the beginning of September.

Miranda shared her experience, “It’s been such a joy working on the upcoming play!  They’re both making amazing progress and they look great.  The casts in both shows are so funny and they work amazingly together.  Everyone should come see both shows because they’re funny and we know you’ll love them as much as we do.”

The BADC will also be hosting a regional theater festival and a spring musical later in the year.  Don’t miss the chance to come out and support the BADC!
