Copies of Reverie Available Now!

August Napolitano

On Wednesday, May 13, 2015, this year’s edition of Bel Air High School’s literary and arts magazine, Reverie, was published.

This year, the editing team of Reverie was comprised of MJ Krchnavy, August Napolitano, and Nathan Alexander. The three editors and their helpful staff use the writing and editing skills taught to them by Reverie advisor and creative writing teacher, Mr. Taylor, to compile the best works of poetry and short stories submitted by countless talented Bel Air students and later, match them up with art to make a beautiful and coherent magazine for the community.

Reverie is now available in English classes, free to take, from now until the end of the school year. The student body is already amazed by the talent possessed by their fellow classmates.

“It’s really cool to see poems that we saw being edited in class finished and published,” says BAHS Senior Ely Lozada, who is also published in the Reverie. “I can tell a lot of hard work went into it this year.”

The editors and staff of Reverie seem to agree. While it was hard to select the best of countless great submissions to fit on just 34 pages and reformatting the magazine brought about many “last minute stresses,” both the end product and the bond formed between the staff proved to be worth it.

“It’s been an amazing two years working with an incredible co-editor and art editor,” MJ Krchnavy says.

Meetings for Reverie will resume in the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year in Mr. Taylor’s room, C222. Mr. Taylor also hosts open mic and poetry slam nights at least once every quarter in the Black Box theater to support production of the magazine. Both events are open to the entire student body of Bel Air High School.
