Singing Groups Showcase Talent at Spring Concert

The Women’s Chorus, Men’s Chorus, Counterpoints, and Pop Choir of the Bel Air High School Chorus Program performed on May 13, 15, and 16, 2014, as a part of the Spring Concert Series.

The first groups to sing were the Women’s Chorus and Men’s Chorus. The Chorus’ performed on the same night as the Freshman Band, Tue., May 13. Soloists from the night included Hannah Nigrin in Defying Gravity and Hannah Barsam, Jen Pezzella, Lucie Cheriscat and Veronica Morales in Revelation. Next year some of each group will transfer to the Counterpoints choir.

The next group to perform was the Counterpoints choir on Thu., May 15. Counterpoints performed the same night as the Symphonic Band. Soloists from the night included Noah Courtney and Maddie Ritchey in He’ll Make a Way.

Alumni Jon Frieswyk said “I really enjoyed the Counterpoints’ music selection of the night. My favorite had to be Shenandoah”.

The Pop Choir finished the concert week with the Jazz Band, and the Bel Air Middle School Jazz Band. Soloists from the night included Caleb Graham in Georgia On My Mind, Riley Brady in True Colors, and various solo parts in Java Jive.

The Counterpoints will perform at Graduation on June 2 along with the Orchestra and selected Band members. Pop Choir will perform at the Flag Day ceremony at Shamrock Park on June 7.
