Band Program Holds Spring Concerts

The Freshman Band, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band of the Bel Air High School Band Program performed on May 13, 15, and 16 respectively as part of the Spring Concert Series at BAHS.

The first group to take the stage was the Freshman Band. The 9th graders performed on the same night as the Men’s and Women’s Choirs on Tues., May 13. Next year the students continuing with the band program will join the Symphonic band.

The next group to perform was the Symphonic Band on Thurs., May 15. Symphonic Band performed the same night as the Counterpoints Choir. The Symphonic band dedicated their last piece entitled, “Not Afraid to Dream,” to the class of 2014.

Band Director Mr. Domenico said “I was very happy with both of the group’s performances; they definitely stepped up their game and performed very well.”

The Jazz Band finished the concerts with Pop Choir on Fri., May 16. The concert featured music that the Jazz Band had performed at the Swing Dance on May 10. The concert also featured music from the Bel Air Middle School Jazz Band.

Selected members of the band will perform at Graduation on June 2 along with the Orchestra. The Band will also be performing at the Flag Day ceremony at Shamrock Park on June 7.
