Art Exhibit Showcases Students’ Aesthetic Talent

On Fri., April 25, 2014, the BAHS Art Department displayed their 43rd annual Art Exhibit in and around the BAHS Library.

The Art Exhibit featured work from the current art students in grades 9-12 and includes watercolor and acrylic paintings, pencil drawings, collages, and marker creations and sculptures. The themes of their artworks range broadly from self-portraits to nature themes to abstract art.

This year, the students and faculty will be able to decide on which piece they think is the best in show with People’s Choice Award. Next time you’re in the library, be sure to take a look around and vote.

Mrs. Ballard, one the art teachers, said, “This show not only displays what our students have been able to accomplish this year, but it also allow them to present a great portfolio of their work they’ve created since September.”

When you go check out the art show, be sure to take a look at the creations in the showcase outside of the library as well. The students have changed the ordinary white sneakers to have a beautiful designs and have created other pieces like jewelry.

The art show will be open for a few weeks, but get be sure to vote on the People’s Choice Award as soon as possible. Voting will close at the same time as the art show and the winner will be announced a few days after that.
