Jazz Band and Pop Choir Performs For Art Gathering

On Mar. 27, 2014 the Bel Air High School Jazz Band and Pop Choir performed at the Liriodendron mansion in Bel Air for the Arts Gathering, “We’re 40 & Fabulous,” hosted by the Harford County Cultural Arts Board.

The Arts Gathering was free and open to any administrator, board member or volunteer of an arts organization. The evening started with beverages and music from the Jazz Band. The Jazz Band’s set for the night was made up from the following songs: Groovin Hard, Woodchopper’s Ball, Big Noise from Winnetka, 5.4 on the Richter Scale, El Final del Verano, Baby That’s What I Need (Walk Tall), Jumpin’ at the Woodside, Told Ya So, Second Line Blues, In a Mellow Tone, Baby Sitter Blues, and When Big Bands Ruled the Earth.

After the Jazz Band performed, the Maryland State Arts Council presented their new strategic plan “Imagine Maryland”.  Once they finished the presentation, the Pop Choir began their set while others had good conversations and exchanged flyers and business cards. The Pop Choir performed It Had To Be You, They Can’t Take That Away From Me, Route 66, At Last, Stand By Me, Up the Ladder to the Roof, Out Here on My Own, I’m Beginning To See The Light, Sixteen Tons, And Build Me Up Buttercup.

The Harford County Cultural Arts Board members enjoyed the performances and are looking forward to hearing more from both groups.
