Students Holiday Spirit Branches Out To the State Capital

On Sat., Dec. 14, a public open house was held at the Governor’s state house in Annapolis to celebrate the holidays. Bel Air High School art students, Brianna Woodward and John Simon made ornaments that were displayed on the Governor’s Christmas tree.

Mrs. Ballard had the opportunity to go to the open house. She was able to tour the downstairs of the house and view the large Christmas tree.

Mrs. Ballard said, “It was packed, and the Christmas tree was huge. It was really nice and cool to walk around.”

The Christmas tree was decorated with many ornaments. In addition to seeing the tree, people could enjoy musical performances by different schools from around Maryland during the event. As stated in the pamphlet given out at the open house, the reason behind this event, “[is] to share in the joy of the season and enjoy the company of neighbors and friends.”
