  • Auburn vs. Alabama: In this thrilling match up, Auburn pulled off, what some say to be, one of the greatest victories in Auburn’s history. According to ESPN, “[an Auburn player] returned a missed field-goal attempt more than 100 yards for a touchdown on the final play to lift No. 4 Auburn to a 34-28 victory over No. 1 Alabama on Saturday, [Nov. 29].”
  • Paul Walker: The 40 year old Fast and Furious actor died moments after a fatal car crash. The combination of injuries from the crash and the fire that took place was what killed the actor, according to the autopsy report. The Fast and Furious franchise will shut down for a period of time to mourn the loss of Walker.
  • Sound of Music Live: Carrie Underwood starred in a live TV version of the Sound of Music as Maria von Trapp. The show received mixed reviews as many thought Underwood was a phenomenal singer but an amateur actress. Underwood had the giant shoes of Julie Andrews to fill and many thought she came up a bit short.
  • Nelson Mandela: On Thursday, Dec. 5 Nelson Mandela, the first African American president of South Africa, passed away at age 95. The world now mourns the loss of an influential man. Children in South Africa used rocks to spell out, “We Love You Mandela,” on his front lawn in remembranc. He will be buried in a state funeral on Sunday, Dec. 15.
