Mrs. Tackett, one of Bel Air High’s math teachers, will be starring in a production of “Nine to Five: The Musical” on October 25th–October 27th and November 1st-November 3rd at the Dundalk Community Theater.
The play is based on the movie ‘Nine to Five’ which came out in 1980 and featured Dolly Parton. It is about three females working in an office and the struggles they encounter as women in the workforce with their male bosses.
Mrs. Tackett plays one of the lead characters named Judy Bernly, a new hire at the office who had to find her first job after her husband leaves her. Mrs. Tackett has been acting in plays since she was a college student and according to her this will be about the tenth musical she has performed in.
Mrs. Tackett said she wanted to audition for this play because of its music. “The music is so fun, and so upbeat. It’s just really good music.”
Mrs. Tackett is having a great time working with the various cast members. She stated that the people are fun to work with, both experience and novice.
In regard to her future theater plans Mrs. Tackett said, “Things like this take a lot of time. After this, I’ll probably take a little bit of a break.”
