-New Music Videos: Not only did Taylor Swift drop the cameo-filled action video for ‘Bad Blood’ but Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj also dropped the music video for their hit song ‘Feeling Myself’. Both music videos are filled with absolute girl power, with Taylor Swift’s group of popular girls in pop culture kicking bad guys’ butts all while looking awesome and the duo’s music video of the two of them having fun without a care in the world.
-Billboard Music Awards: Yet another awards show full of stars that make fans scream like crazy. Not only did Taylor Swift premiere her new music video but she also showed her affection to new boyfriend Calvin Harris. Ex-boyfriend Harry Styles and the rest of One Direction won multiple awards but looked sad on stage without their fifth member. Nicki Minaj performed with David Guetta and made the crowd go wild and the internet made fun of Iggy Azalea’s sad attempt of rapping, compared to the excellent performance given by better rappers such as Minaj and Kanye West (who gave the censor guy a workout for sure!). Taylor Swift was the ultimate winner tonight because not only did she win the most times in the show’s history, but she got to dance with Breakfast Club star Molly Ringwald as Simple Plan performed the hit from the movie, ‘(Don’t You) Forget About Me’ in honor of the movie’s 25th anniversary.
-David Letterman’s Final Episode: TV legend David Letterman stepped down from the Late Show this week after hosting over 6000 episodes over the years since his first show 30 years ago (starting out as Late Night and later changing the name to Late Show). Cameos and surprises were all over the place the entire time, especially during the final Top 10 List with Tina Fey and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. There were the usual gags, Letterman’s final monologue filled with nostalgic jokes and they even brought back old graphics and clips from the older shows. He ended his show with a touching tribute to his entire cast and a special shout out to his wife and son, who he keeps out of the spotlight. Letterman’s favorite band, The Foo Fighters closed out his final show with an amazing performance of “Everlong”.
