11 Things 2 Better Your Life

Konnor-Ashley Randlett

  1. Keep a journal

Record your thoughts and take the time to reflect upon them. Revisit yesterday’s feelings and actions to make today that much better.

  1. Accept yourself

Love yourself for everything you are and everything you aren’t. Appreciate your strengths and strive to improve upon your weaknesses. Be the best you can be and show the world all that you are. Treat yourself to something. Being kind to yourself is just as important as being kind to others.

  1. Send someone a letter

In this day and age our most valuable conversations come from pressing send on a screen. Sending a letter takes time and really comes from the heart, it is a sentimental gift that one can treasure forever.

  1. Avoid small talk

Get to the point! If you enjoy spending time with someone and want to have a genuine relationship of any kind with them, avoid small talk. Life’s too short. Don’t waste your time.

  1. Be present

Our time is valuable, yet we spend so much time thinking about the past and worrying for the future. Appreciate the moments that are happening right now, before they too become memories.

  1. Buy a plant and water it

Taking on the responsibility to care for something besides yourself will give you a sense of maturity. And watching it grow will give you a sense of pride and satisfaction.

  1. Dance in the rain

Why not? “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass.”

  1. Take chances

It never hurts to try. Even if it doesn’t work out the way you plan, there will always be something to take away from any situation.

  1. Ask questions

Don’t take life at face value. Be curious, get to the bottom of a mystery and expand your knowledge to appreciate the world for all that it is.

10. Forgive quickly

Life is unpredictable. Don’t hold grudges. If someone is desperately seeking forgiveness… forgive them.

11. Let go of what doesn’t make you happy

Why hold onto things that make your life anything but happy and enjoyable? It’s simple: if something doesn’t add a positive value to your life, let it go. You can’t climb mountains and enjoy the scenery if you have negativity holding you back.
