Boys’ Varsity Baseball Loses First Game of the Season

On Tuesday, March 21, the Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team traveled to Towson to face off against the Calvert Hall Cardinals.

The Bobcats got off to a quick start as Cole Slembecker delivered an RBI to put the Bobcats up 1-0 in the top of the second. Calvert Hall would not take long to respond as they put a run on the board tying the game up at one.

In the fifth inning, Calvert Hall’s offensive went off, putting up four runs on the scoreboard to give them a 5-1 lead. That would be all they needed as they handed Bel Air their first loss in the Bobcats’ first game of the season.

“It was a tough loss for us, but it was only the first game of the season. We will get even better as the season progresses.” States junior Liam Bowers.

After losing their first game of the season, the Bobcats look to get back into the win column as they travel over to John Carroll to face off against the Patriots on March 27.

Bowers adds to his previous statement, explaining, “We’re going to work much harder in practice so we are more prepared for our next opponents.”
