Clash of the Cats

On Friday, Feb. 3, the Bel Air Boys’ Basketball Team traveled to Fallston High School to take on the Cougars in a huge divisional game. The game was tight throughout, but ended with a final score of 72-60 in favor of the Cougars after a late push by Fallston to close out the game.

The Bobcats started strong, jumping out to an early lead on the back of a pair of deep threes from senior Michael Yetter.

The good shooting and hustle continued through the second quarter for the Bobcats, keeping the score tight going into the half.

“We played well in the first half,” says junior Josh Munley. “Now all we need to do is put a full game together and we will start winning these close games.”

In the second half, the Bobcats could not hang on in the face of ridiculous shooting from the Cougars. A few free throws and a late push from Fallston put the Cougars up twelve when the clock hit zero.

“We are playing our best basketball as of late,” Yetter states. “We just need to close out the game and find a way to come out on top. I think with a little more practice and experience in these tight games we will have a chance to make a run in the playoffs.”

The Bobcats’ next game is away at Havre de Grace on Tuesday, Feb. 7. The boys also return home on Friday for their last regular season home game against North Harford in a great senior night competition. Come out and support your Bobcats this week as they look to bounce back from a tough loss.
