Wrestling Team Proud to be Loud

On Wednesday, January 11, our Bobcat Wrestling team brought home another win from a home meet against Patterson Mill’s Huskies.

A couple matches in, sophomores Jacob Reed and Grant Cole really gave the crowd something to cheer for when Reed finished his match in just 45 seconds and finishing his match at a time of minute and 45 seconds.

Confident about the meet, Grant Cole said, “Patterson Mill thought they were gonna beat us and had a chance against us but our whole team kinda already knew that they weren’t gonna and Bel Air is 8-0 against them so..”

Senior and Captain Tommy Gomez shined bright once again under the wrestling spotlight. Gomez does not like being tied down and with his speed, agility, and great leg moves, he did an amazing leg- body smashing move on one the Huskies having the guy next to me in the stands asking if that move was even legal- it was. Gomez added another 3 points to the board with a total of 45-3 by the end of his match.

Sophomore Jack Brink knows how to take a helmet to the mat and keep a body to the ground. Brink toughed out 3 great rounds against Patterson Mill’s Huskies and had the crowd cheering the loudest they had all night by his fourth round when he won his match. Go Bobcats!!!
