Bel Air Powderpuff

On Thursday, Nov. 10, at 7:00 p.m., the roles were reversed on the football field as Bel Air hosted its annual Powderpuff match.

Now, a few people may be wondering, “What is Powderpuff?” From a more literal standpoint, it’s touch football played by girls only. But here, at Bel Air high it means a little bit more.

From our all-male cheerleading squad to the amazing school spirit shown by our student section, it’s truly something everyone should come out to watch. And of course, you can’t forget it’s a Juniors vs. Seniors game, but that doesn’t mean underclassmen can’t come out to support.

“I thought it would be really funny if me and a couple of friends got together, dressed as girls, and cheered at our last Powderpuff game.” Says senior Aiden Jenkins when explaining why he signed up.

Even if all the things above didn’t sound like that much fun, you must remember you get to watch our extremely talented Lady Cats play the greatest sport in the world!

“I thought it was just an all-around great time, and I feel bad for anyone that just decided not to show up.” Says sophomore Derek Freund.

Unfortunately, if you missed out on this game, it only happens once every year, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying to come out or even participate in the many Powderpuff games to come!
