Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016 Bel Air Field Hockey Team took on C. Milton Wright at the Mustang Stadium for a sponsored “Corners for Cancer” game.

The first half of the game was evenly matched, with neither team’s defense breaking, until, with two minutes left, the Mustangs scored off a drive putting them ahead 1-0.

The second half also had a slow start, with no score on either side until eight minutes in, C. Milton gaining an even stronger lead though, scoring another point for their team, and then procuring an another within the last seven minutes of the game.

With only three minutes remaining, the Mustangs scored for the final time that night, dominating 4-0 over Bel Air. Then, finally, for the last goal of the game, freshman Kelsie Gillis from Bel Air scored with only minutes to spare, putting the Bobcats up on the board, leaving the final score of the match 4-1 Mustangs.

“This game was expected to be a tough one for us.” Says second-year varsity player Bailey Springer. “C. Milton is a good team, but we came to do our best and give it our all.”

This was a tough loss for Bel Air, but they plan to practice harder and come back strong. Their next game will be Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Perryville High School at 3:30 p.m. Good luck, Bobcats!
