On Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, Bel Air Girls’ Varsity Soccer played as the visiting team against Fallston.

The highly intense first half between the two rivals ended with neither team having scored, but both teams ready to get back into the game.

The Lady ‘Cats started off strong, with a 1-0 lead, during the second half. The goal was scored by sophomore forward Autumn Dougherty.

“It was a huge confidence boost that our team really needed!” Says Junior Defender Carolyn Doheny. “I think, now that we have gained that confidence in ourselves, it’s going to carry us really far this season.”

Fallston came back hard in the seventh minute, scoring a goal and tying the game 1-1, causing the teams to go into overtime.

Both teams gave it their all, but, in the end, Bel Air came out on top when Junior Lexi Kreamer scored, with eight seconds left in the first half of over time.

“It was a feeling of accomplishment for me knowing, after we had fought hard all game, that I had the chance to finish for my team.” Says Kraemer.

Bel Air continues on the season with 2-2-1 status.

“It was a very well-played game and an extremely satisfying win.” Says Assistant Coach Jason Brooks. “But it’s still just one game and a long season. We don’t want this to be the highlight of our season.”

The Bobcats’ next game will be played at home on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 6:45 p.m. against North Harford High School.
