Cross Country Heads to State Championship

On Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, the Bel Air Cross Country Team ran in the MPSSAA 4A North Region Championships at Dulaney High School. The boys’ team placed fourth and the girls’ team placed sixth.

Sophomore Kieran McDermott led the Bobcats in seventh place with a time of 16:34. McDermott was followed by Senior Captain Austin Weiss in seventeenth place with a time of 17:17, and sophomore Ethan Gray with a time of 17:57.

Senior Morgan Smith led the girls’ team in thirteenth place with a time of 20:47. Closely behind Smith was Sophomore Paige Blaker in thirty second place with a time of 21:54 and Senior Captain Joy Hayward with a time of 22:25.

Both the boys’ and girls’ teams placed high enough to run in the MPSSAA 4A State Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015.

Smith said, “I am so excited that we made it to states! Everyone has worked so hard all season and I am so happy that it is all paying off.”
