Lady Bobcats Defeat the Undefeated

On Wednesday, Oct. 7, our Varsity Lady Bobcats beat the Fallston Cougars 2-0 right here at Bobcat Stadium.

Pregame, our Lady Bobcats worked to keep intensity levels high to play the Fallston Cougars, who were undefeated from eight shut out games. This strategy proved to work well when during the first half, Senior Gabby Encarnacion scored the first goal of the game with no assist.

Senior Keeper, Andrea Sipos, worked alongside the team’s defense, making seven saves during the game. The combined effort of the team’s starting keeper and solid defense were able to keep the Cougars off the score board for the entire game.

“Offensively, we put a lot of pressure on the others team’s defense. Defensively, we stayed on top of them; we didn’t let them into the goal at all,” explained Head Coach Clemmer on the performance of the team.

During the second half, Senior Gabby Encarnacion came back and scored the final goal of the game with no assist. With Fallston down by two, the buzzer went off, and the Bel Air Bobcats had earned themselves another victory.

Head Coach Clemmer commented, “The most important thing for the girls to remember was to maintain a level of confidence, they needed to remember that we’re the team to beat.”

The Varsity Lady Bobcats next game is at 6:45 pm on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015 against C. Milton Wright at Bobcat Stadium. We hope to see plenty of Bobcats supporters in the stand cheering on the team!
