On Thursday, Oct. 1, Bel Air boys’ varsity soccer played against Havre De Grace at Bobcat stadium.

The first half of the game was mainly a defensive battle between the two teams. The teams went back and forth with many scoring opportunities, but neither could put one in the back of the net.

At the end of the first half the score was 0-0. With about 29 minutes left in the second half, Havre De Grace scored, upping the score to 1-0.

Senior Ryan Wills commented about the first half. “We played at Havre De Grace’s level. We were disconnected and didn’t finish our opportunities, we dominated the game, but played, kicked, and ran instead of staying in possession.”

With about 28 minutes remaining in the second half, sophomore Conner Lorenz scored to tie things up at 1. With 26 minutes remaining in the game, Captain Josh Beeker got injured and ended up sitting the bench for the rest of the game. The game would end up going into two 10 minute overtimes where eventually the game would end in a draw.

Ryan Wills commented about Josh Beeker’s injury saying: “Josh is doing fine. I think he’ll be out for Tuesday’s game, but we want him healthy for big matches like C. Milton Wright, and Fallston.’’

Hopefully Josh Beeker can recover and return to the field soon, as the Bobcats have 2 upcoming rivalry games between the Fallston Cougars and the C. Milton Wright Mustangs.
