On Friday, Sept. 25, the Bel Air Bobcats played their crosstown rivals, the Fallston Cougars, and came away with a 56-28 victory pushing the Bobcats regular season record to 4-0.

The game was a shootout between the Bobcat’s high-powered rushing offense led by junior, Keegan Mchugh, and Fallston’s passing game led by senior captain, Andy Stump.

To open the night, the Bobcat’s offense took the ball 70 yards capped off by a touchdown run by McHugh behind key blocks from Junior Alex Muneses, and Senior Jacob Tull, to give Bel Air a 7-0 lead.

“The holes were there all night. I truly believe that the work that our offensive line put in during the summer played a vital role in the success of the running game tonight. I hope to continue our success again next week,” said McHugh.

The Bobcat’s defense also played a key role in the victory coming up with two huge forced fumbles to give the offense the ball back, one coming in the third quarter from senior, Jimmy Nicol.

“It wasn’t our best game as a defensive unit but we kept our composure and when the opportunity presented itself, guys came up with huge plays all night,” said Nicol.

Next week the Bobcat’s will take on Fredrick Douglass at home and will look to continue their undefeated run. This will be the Bobcat’s homecoming game so pack the stands and cheer for your Bobcat’s as they look to remain unbeaten.
