Softball Racking Up the Wins

The Varsity Girls’ Softball Team has had such a successful season so far and it is not coming to an end. They have a current record of 13-2, leading the UCBAC division. The most recent victory was a clutch win against the Bo Manor Eagles. The game was a close win with a final score of 1-0. Other recent victories the Lady Cats earned were against Perryville, Havre De Grace, John Carroll, Rising Sun, Fallston and North Harford. So far this year, the softball team has had an outstanding year at bat.

In the most recent game, played on Tuesday, April 28, Rayn Gibson, junior captain, pitched a perfect game. Out of 18 outs, Rayn pitched 17 strikeouts. This was a much needed win for the lady cats to take the lead of the division. Brianna Fleischmann had two singles and scored the game’s lone run in the fourth inning. Gibson had the RBI double. Morgan Dvorak had a single as well.

“It felt good to pitch a perfect game, but I could not do it without the support from my teammates,” said Rayn Gibson after the win against Bo Manor.
