On Wednesday, April 15, the Bel Air Bobcats Varsity Baseball team traveled to Rising Sun to take on the Tigers for the second time this season. Losing to the Tigers 3-1 in the previous game the Bobcats brought the energy and fire they needed to win.

Starting on the mound for the Bobcats was Sophomore Zack Radcliffe who went 5 2/3 innings, giving up only 2 earned runs on a few hits. Bel Air started early, by hammering the ball and forcing 2 pitching changes that eventually lead to 8 runs through 7 innings. Tyler Newton led the Bobcats on offense going 3 for 4 and knocking in 2 RBI’s. Resulting in the 8-6 win over Rising Sun.

Following this very important win of defeating the top team in the division the Bobcats followed the game by an 8-2 win over Patterson Mill the next day, improving their record to .500 on the year at 5-5. Leading the Bobcats offense was Captain JD Bruck and Mike Feinhour both with homeruns in the game, contributing to 4 of the Bobcats 8 runs. Jack Jenkins started and threw 6 innings of solid baseball, getting the win for the day.

“I felt great through the first few innings, I was hitting spots and my off speed was affective. With a great defense behind me the pressure was really brought down going into the last few innings,” said Jenkins.
