On Wednesday, April 8, the Bel Air High School Boys’ Lacrosse team traveled to Lewes, Delaware to face the Vikings of Cape Henlopen High School, only to fall in a tight game, 9-8.

The Bobcats started off strong scoring 3 unanswered goals in the first quarter. The goals were led by Seniors Brad Casale and David Lotz. The Bobcats initial attack faltered, however, allowing the Vikings to build up their own attack as they scored 3 unanswered goals of their own. Cape Henlopen scored again to end the half 4-3 in their favor.

The second half held much of the same for both teams. Back and forth goals held the game close throughout the 3rd and most of the 4th quarter. With time winding down the Bobcats were able to tie it up at 8 apiece. Cape Henlopen would not be out done, however, as they scored the game winning goal with just a few ticks remaining to gain the lead and eventually, the win, 9-8.

Senior Garrett Utz commented after the game, “We were able to come out strong like we wanted to but we struggled to find the net after that. It’s a tough loss but we know we’re looking to build off of it and move on to the next game.”
