The National Football Foundation (NFF) awarded Senior Andrew Visconti a $4000 scholarship award for his outstanding work as a student athlete this past week at their annual awards dinner.

The NFF is a nationwide organization that awards football players for their exceptional work, not only on the football field, but in the classroom as well. Each school sends one representative chosen by the school to an awards dinner hosted by the NFF. Visconti was chosen to represent Bel Air at the prestigious dinner.  Then, out of 70 other representatives from every school in this area, Visconti was chosen for the scholarship.

“I was honored to represent Bel Air at the National Football Foundation Awards dinner,” Visconti said afterwards. “I would like to thank the faculty, staff, and teachers for creating an environment where students can thrive in and out of the classroom.”

Visconti played two years of Varsity football, while being a captain for his senior season. He has also been class president for all four years he has been in high school. Outside of school, Visconti has achieved the Eagle Scout honor, and his project for becoming an Eagle Scout resulted in the completion of a brand new bobcat statue outside of the stadium.

Visconti will continue his education at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
