Girls’ Basketball Ends the Season With a Bang

The Girls’ Varisty Basketball season ended with a bang with their victorious senior night against the Fallston Cougars. The final score was 45-25 with the Lady Cats’ winning the game, giving the seniors a great last home game win.

Senior night recognized 5 senior players, as well as two managers from the Bel Air team. Recognizing senior captains were Renie Tsomos and Mariah Thomas, as well as Catia Johnson, Annalise Paylor and Kayla Klock.  Senior managers included Katie Bowling and Julia Giannaccini. With the final score of 45-25, the lady cats’ gave everything they had to defeat the Fallston Cougars for the second time. Key offensive plays were contributed from Renie Tsomos, Mariah Thomas, OC Murphy and Kayla Klock. Key defensive plays were made by Natalie Neff, Catia Johnson, and Rebekah Riley.

“I’m so proud of my team, this was a great night for everyone and we gave everything we had out on the court for our seniors. We still have playoffs though, this won’t be the last time we step out on the court with them,” said Post Player and Sophomore Bethany Ingram.

After the senior night game, the Girls’ Varisty Basketball team began playoffs. Their first opponent in round one was the North Harford against the Hawks, Friday, February 27.  The Lady Cats’ were extremely pumped for this game and ready to take care of business. The final score against the North Harford Hawks was 42-19. Everyone was racking the boards for rebounds, offensive and defensive, running key offensive plays and hustling to every loose ball. Key offensive plays were made by Julie Bernoski, Rayn Gibson and Renie Tsomos. Key defensive plays were contributed by Anna Wehland, Catia Johnson and Anna Putnam.

“This game was not a game we escaped, it’s a game we took control over and earned a win. I’m ready for the next round,” stated Coach Skelton after the win Friday night.
