On Friday, Dec. 12, the Fallston Cougars and the Bel Air Bobcats Boys’ Basketball squads faced off at Bel Air in the team’s first head to head match up of the season.

Both teams were evenly matched coming into the game. The first part of the game showed that with no one team gaining momentum. Fallston had the better run of play, however, after hitting a couple tough 3 pointers to break the deadlock.  The Bobcats, hoping to avenge their previous loss at North Harford, came out with an intensity not seen in the previous games.

JD Bruck said talked about the win after the game. “We knew that we had to win this game defensively and try to get easy points from turnovers. We live or die by the three so it’s important to get those easy fast break points.”

After forcing multiple turnovers the Bobcats pulled ahead thanks to 3 pointers from Brandon Tavenier and JD Bruck. The Bobcats took control of the game and didn’t look back.

The second half was all Bel Air with the outside shooting still going strong along with a big contribution from John Gallina down low. With Fallston not having a true big man, Gallina took control in the paint getting easy lay ins and multiple rebounds.

The Bobcats cruised to an easy 70-53 win, rebounding from Tuesday’s loss and improving their record to 2-1 on the season.
